Wollaton is a very nice area of Nottingham which has many great attractions.
What to do there: At first glance, Wollaton may seem like an average student and family friendly area. But upon closer inspection, you can see it offers so much more than clubs and pubs. For instance, it has the Wollaton Hall and Deer Park. The Wollaton Hall and Deer Park is a large house which attracts many visitors from across the country because of its large park, which has been inhabited by many Deer's. It also attracts many tourists because it is the home of a very famous superhero…
There is also a little gold mine museum just round the corner from the hall and it is the national emergency services museum. It is a great way to kill an hour or so if you don't know what to do that is costly. The volunteers are all very helpful and the museum itself is full of interesting items to look at. It is both interesting and educational!
If you fancy a proper pub lunch, then try the Wollaton Pub and Kitchen. Its food is legendary around the area and the staff are always helpful and friendly. Upon arriving at the pub you will be immediately greeted by a smile and taken to your table. Then, you should order a Sunday roast (I do anyway) and when it comes, enjoy it. If you are only popping in for a quick lunch, then try the beef sandwich. It is delicious! It also sells cheap drinks if you fancy a starting point to your pub crawl.
Another pub worth a try is the Wheelhouse. It is brilliant for nights out as it has great drinks at an affordable price. It also serves your standard pub lunch for a fair price. As it is part of a larger pub chain it is known to be well respected and prides itself on its quality drinks and excellent customer service.
Wollaton Hall was the home of Bruce Wayne, also known as Batman, in the recent films starring Christian Bale.
Wollaton Hall hosts many great events throughout the year including Napoleonic themed events and other exhibitions which are all worth a look.
Wollaton is very close to the city centre, so if you get lost, walk for 5 minutes east and you will soon be in the centre.
