Woodhouse is a small area in Leeds that is renowned for its appeal with students.
What to do there: In Woodhouse there are a few pubs that are worth popping in for a pint. One of them is the Eldon, which is part of the John Barras pub chain. It serves your reliable good quality food and ale whilst having friendly staff to ensure you have a good time. With it being part of such a well-known pub chain you can guarantee it will be of top quality.
Another one of the top pubs in the area is the Fenton. It sells quality ale and has barstaff that are second to none in efficiency and friendliness. It is possbly the most renowned pub in the area and is no wonder why so many people love it.
One of the top attractions in the area that is relatively cost free is Woodhouse Moor. It is a large open space park that has everything ranging from tennis courts to a Queen Victoria monument. It is also very popular with the students on a sunny day and there is often many families sat round and playing in the park.
The other major attraction is Meanwood Valley Urban Farm. The price of entry is ridiculously cheap, £1 for adults and 50p for children! There is a brilliant playground and café, called the hungry hedgehog which sells great valued cakes and coffee for the adults whilst the kids look at the animals.
Everyone needs to eat so why not try the l'oranaise Café it is a Moroccan themed restaurant and is a refreshing change to the usual bore of average curry houses and poor pizza parlours. The l'oranaise Café has a wide selection of meals including a healthy range of vegetarian dishes. It also has a tapas menu which is brilliant value for money. This hidden gem is recommended to anyone wanting to try something new.
A great restaurant to go to if on a celebration is La Besi. It has a feel of a little Italian café and with the prices you would think you were at an average café. But believe me, you are at a brilliant restaurant! The pizzas are cooked to perfection and the pastas are sheer perfection. They also do a delivery service, good or what? Oh yeah, almost forgot, there is a Bring Your Own Booze policy to make your night that bit cheaper. Perfect.
Woodhouse Moor was the first plot of land purchased by the city council to be turned into a park.
Every year there is a fair in the local park, Woodhouse Moor, which has a selection of activities to do including the classics like hook a duck.
