Award winning lettings and estate agency Sheffield Residential has marked the re-launch of its café style offices by announcing a new project /initiative to provide Sheffield students and young people with guidance and advice seminars on renting a property called ‘Next Steps’.

Sheffield Residential revealed details of the new ‘Next Steps’ sessions at the opening event for its refurbished offices as part of ongoing work to share the agency’s expertise of working with young people and students in the city.

The new project is part of Sheffield Residential’s plans to provide a contemporary and interactive customer service approach when it comes to helping renters. The new relaxed style office with easy chairs, free tea, coffee, cold drinks and biscuits, is proving a hit with customers who can browse available accommodation through touch screen search panels or on iPads, or by discussing their needs with the front desk concierge or one of the dedicated property managers on hand.

The Team at Sheffield Residential, said: “We wanted to celebrate the launch of our new offices with some new projects to further integrate us into the Sheffield housing community and to share our expertise with young people who need support when it comes to their living arrangements.

“We have already increased the sessions with Sheffield College students due to demand and we are looking forward to providing some guidance and answering any questions they might have about renting a property. When the time comes for them to move out of their family homes, it is a big step for young people and we feel there isn’t currently enough being done to help them understand the ins and outs of renting and living in their own home.”

Sheffield College is encouraging students to sign up for the first series of sessions and if they prove popular Sheffield Residential is hoping to further develop their activity with students in the city.

Mick Merchant, of Sheffield College, said: “Sheffield College welcomes Sheffield Residential’s offer of the advice sessions. They are proving popular and so many students have expressed an interest that we have timetabled additional sessions to manage demand.”

Sheffield Residential has recently refurbished its West Street offices hosting daily customer clinics and with late night opening on Wednesdays until 8pm.

The event also saw Sheffield Residential make a £1000 donation to SAFE@LAST, a local charity that works with and on behalf of children and young people at risk through running away.
